Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica will be the present of the Un Certain Regard sidebar for Cannes 2011. Un Certain Regard is where most of the festival's "official selection" films are screened in a program which is intended to be, in the festival's own words, "... a survey of current world cinema."
Historically the Un Certain Regard was a non-competitive showcase section, however there is now an award given for the best film in the sidebar (Prix Un Certain Regard) and the jury also has the power to bestow Special Jury Awards on films it likes in the program.
